On Sunday, May 31, in the Parish of St. George in Budisalc, during the Holy Mass, young candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation. The celebration was presided over by Bishop Dodë Gjergji, who, through prayer, the laying on of hands, and anointing with the Sacred Chrism, bestowed upon the confirmands the gift of the Holy Spirit.
In his homily and pastoral presence, the Bishop encouraged the young people to see this sacrament not merely as a solemn moment, but as an important step in their Christian maturity. The newly confirmed were called to become more aware of the faith they have received, the responsibility they undertake, and the witness they are invited to give in their daily lives.
The Feast of the Holy Trinity gave the celebration of Confirmation an even deeper meaning, reminding us that God is love, communion, and self-giving. In this spirit, the young people received the strength of the Holy Spirit to live more closely with Christ and to remain steadfast on the path of faith.
The parish priest, Don Kolë Dedaj, together with the parish community, shared the joy of this blessed day and expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the spiritual preparation of the confirmands.
This celebration was a beautiful testimony that faith continues to live in the hearts of the younger generations and that the Church grows whenever young people open themselves with trust to God's call. For the Parish of St. George in Budisalc, May 31 will remain a day of grace, remembrance, and responsibility-a day that invites all believers to walk more courageously in the light of the Gospel.
May the Sacrament of Confirmation be for these young people the beginning of a more conscious, stronger, and more open life to the action of the Holy Spirit.
